Jared is a US-qualified attorney with expertise in protected area financing, conservation project impact assessment, non-profit and private sector collaborations, corporate sustainability strategy and guidelines, and environmental regulatory frameworks. At EcoAdvisors, Jared specializes in environmental regulatory and legislative analysis, conservation finance governance and transactions, policy review, risk management, impact assessment, and NGO-private sector partnerships. He provides a key oversight role engaging local counsel in legal review of tenure instruments and structuring finance. Prior to EcoAdvisors, Jared was an attorney at a preeminent international law firm, where he litigated intellectual property and business law disputes. His practice included complex litigation financial analyses, including two years leading a damages analysis that resulted in a settlement award of approximately $100 million USD. In a pro bono capacity, Jared has fundraised for international NGOs, filmed a documentary in Zimbabwe, advised prosecutors in international criminal proceedings, obtained asylum and special visas for foreign nationals, and assisted in protecting the rights of children in Bolivia. Jared has a law degree from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Science (with first class honours) from McGill University.
